Information reaching us is that the academic staff union of universities (ASUU) are to met with the federal government to decide if to call of the strike.
ASUU had then promised to get back with a decision within a week on whether the strike will be called off or not after an indoor meeting with the government last week.
ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, was quoted as saying last week: “Now we have something concrete to present to our members.”
The union held series of meeting with its members across country early this week to review the federal government offer.
The union declared a nationwide strike in August to protest against poor funding of varsities and issues relating to salaries.
