NLC to review strike – Waaba

– The president of NLC announced the review of
nationwide strike next week
– He says the Labour will assess the impact of the
strike action
Ayuba Wabba, the president of Nigeria Labour
Congress (NLC), has said the congress will next
week review the indefinite nationwide strike against
the hike in fuel price.
Waaba was speaking on Political Platform, a Ray
Power FM programme, which was monitored in Abuja,
Sahara Reporters informs.

He clarified that the NLC leadership will organise
another meeting to review and evaluate the influence
of the industrial action and see if the administration
will change its decision to raise the pump price of
petrol to N145.00 per litre.
The president of the organisation defined as untrue
the rumour that the congress has been invited to
another round of negotiations with the Federal
government, adding the NLC and the
government keep the positions they held before the
strike.
Meanwhile, Wabba, said he could not give an exact
date for the review of the strike, but gave the
assurance that it will occur next week.

Ibe Kachikwu, minister of petroleum, has announced
last week the removal of fuel subsidy and increase of
fuel price.
The NLC alongside with some civil society
organisations declared a nationwide strike and mass
protest against the fuel price hike from N86.00 to
N145.00.
