Someone says, "if they ignore you for a day, ignore them for a week" and "if they ignore you for a month, ignore them for a lifetime". This seems to be one of the problems we have with ourselves. Around us, we have just a few friends but online, we've got thousands of them.
So, it's a bit easy to ignore someone for a lifetime; of course, we've got a thousand other friends that want to talk to us. Ironically, we're closer to our online friends than we are to those around us. We share deep secrets with people we've not met physically, but don't even share a problem with those around us. We're technologically close to someone who's thousands of miles away from us, thereby, ignoring the ones around us. But what happens when our phones go off? When the network is down? When our phones are stolen? We find out that we're indeed strangers to those who've been around us all this time, and we know nothing about them.A little time off our phone, is healthy. We get to truly enjoy and savor each moment, and not devalue it by taking selfies. We get to know one another and not depend on technology for communication. We visit each other, celebrate each other, create bonds and share things. And then, when we're in dire need of a hug, there 'll be someone to give it to us. For we're humans. Not aliens. Life is too short to spend it online.
